Sunday Hotel Rhodes is conveniently located half way between Rhodes town and Diagoras Rhodes International Airport (RHO). We are in a residential area within a 10 minute walk from the center of Ialisos and about 15 minutes walk from the popular area of Ixia. Ialisos Beach is just 10 minutes walk as well and within a short walk from Sunday Hotel Rhodes you will find many supermarkets, bakeries, cafes, restaurants, bars, car rentals, pharmacies, hairdressers, ATMs and all kinds of commercial shops that you might need to visits while you stay with us. 1. How can I get to Sunday Hotel Rhodes from the Airport?

To get here from the airport you can use both taxis and public busses, as well as private transfers for large groups. If you prefer to drive yourself you can always rent a car at the airport.

How to get a Taxi?

The most convenient way to get here from the airport is to just get outside the arrival gate at Diagoras Airport and find the taxi rank right opposite. Taxi cost around 20€ and would take less than 15 minutes to get here. Taxi availability is really good at Diagoras International Airport all year round and normally there is no wait at the taxi rank. However from mid July until the end of August when the Airport is at its busiest there might be a little longer wait than usual. Can I get the Bus?

To get to Sunday Hotel from the Airport, you can also get the bus to Rhodes Town every 45 minutes approximately. Single bus fares cost around 2€ per person and you can buy them from the driver or at mini markets and kiosks in many locations around the island.  The closes stop to Sunday Hotel Rhodes is called Anixis bus stop and it is 200 meters away. I prefer to have a Private Transfer arranged, is it possible?

If you prefer to have everything sorted before you arrive, a private transfer can be easily arranged for you. Can I Rent a Car at the Airport?

Yes there are car rental services located at the airport, however most car companies will deliver cars at the airport. In many cases it is worth to arrange a car rental in advance and have it delivered at the airport. 2. How can I get to Sunday Hotel Rhodes from the Rhodes Akandia Port?

From Rhodes Akandia Port the only way recommended is getting a taxi. It will cost around 25€ and should take a bit over 15 minute to get here. Getting a bus is possible but you will have to get to Nea Agora central bus station that is located 1 km from the port. Although the distance is walk-able it is not recommended unless you travel light without many baggage or children. Private transfer can be arranged but ferry arrival times often vary or arrive at inconvenient times, so private transfers are considerable more expensive than getting a Taxi.

3. How do I get to the Beach?

Sunday Hotel Rhodes is only a 10 minute walk from Ialisos Beach and you can see the route on the map above. Ialisos Beach has a mix of pebbles, stones and sand. It is one of the cleanest on the island and has earned a blue flag many times. There are always plenty of sunbeds and parasols for hire, as well as watersports and surfing huts. Along the beach you will find plenty of restaurants and shops. Ialisos beach is a perfect place for watching the sunset and taking a romantic walk by the sea.

Rhodes is definitely a fun place at night! There are several spots on the island that could be your after hours playground especially in the Summer.

  1. Orfanidou street, better known as the Bar Street in Rhodes is a good place to start. As the name suggests it is a street full of bars and night clubs along the coast line of Rhodes town.
  2. Rhodes Old Town is also a great place to go if you are looking for nightlife, so definitely add it to your plans.
  3. Faliraki offers a wide range of bars, clubs and beach bars that attract the young crowds until early morning.

10. I want to visit a museum and do some sightseeing! Where can I go?

Rhodes offers a unique opportunity for history and culture enthusiasts! Every corner and every stone on the island hides a small part of its 2400-year long history. Rarely does one have the chance to spend time in such a remarkable place, where even today there is an amazing palette of multicultural influences. Rhodes Old Town

Acropolis of Rhodes

Many monuments in Rhodes are evidence of its rich and varied past. Among them the Acropolis of Rhodes, with the Hellenistic Temple of Apollo and the Ancient Stadium, built in the 3rd century BC. This area formed one of the most important centers of worship, education and recreation for the citizens of ancient Rhodes. Today this is an open Archeological park and can be visited from dawn til dusk.


Lindos is a coastal city that captivates every visitor with panoramic views that tell a thousand stories. Surrounded by turquoise waters, a whitewashed town sprawled at the foot of a rocky hill with a prominent ancient walled city and a beautifully preserved Acropolis. Valley of Butterflies

The Valley of the Butterflies (or Petaloudes) is unique ancient natural reserve. Apart from its unique aesthetic value, it is also the only natural forest of Liquidambar orientalis (Oriental Sweetgum trees) in Europe and the nesting grounds for the Jersey tiger (Panaxia Quadripunctaria), a nocturnal moth. This is an excellent place for families with children and a great opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of Rhodes island.

What to do in the Valley of Butterflies

  • Walk the stoned carved path from the bottom of the valley to the top
  • Quietly observe the life of the butterflies
  • Visit to the Museum of Natural History and the butterfly hatchery
  • Visit the monastery of Kalopetra at the top
